WHAT ABOUT MY HOUSE?
As I was getting ready for my trip, I did some analysis and I decided to Sell My House.
For many people, this may sound ominous… in truth, it did to me at first… but it made sense in the end…
WHAT ABOUT MY HOUSE CONTENTS?
Most of what I had was clutter … I didn’t actually need it and (in many cases) I didn’t actually use it. In the end, there were very few items that I cared about or actually thought that I should keep.
I was not interested in dwelling on how much I spent on everything that I was getting rid of. The fact was that they were worth nothing to me anymore. The reality was that it was also not really worth that much to sell either… Auction sites like NZ’s Trademe (and eBay) have seen to that.
So I was mucking around with several hundred dollars worth (or, at best, just a few thousand dollars worth) of clutter to get rid of …
It was a no brainer … my children and ex partner took everything that they wanted for free … I took anything left of any use down to the local charity shop … and I dumped what’s left.
WHAT ABOUT MY HEALTH?
Given where I’m going, I needed new / booster vaccinations for Cholera, Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis, Measles, Meningococcal, Pneumococcal, Poliomyelitis, Rabies, Tetanus, Typhoid, Tick-borne Encephalitis, and Yellow Fever. I also needed Malaria Tablets. I needed to keep my Yellow Fever Certificate so that I could enter some target countries.
See My Vaccinations for more details.
WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE?
If I need hospital treatment, I need to know that I can afford it.
If I’m involved in an accident, I need to know that I am covered for any claim made against me.
Therefore, as a minimum, I needed Medical & Personal Indemnity Insurance.
Here are My Travel Insurance details.
WHAT AM I GOING TO PACK?
This is My Luggage.
