Utila - Public Beach 2
JUNE 2017: Why not read our Retirement Reviews. OVERVIEW: We spent a week making our way from Palenque, Mexico across northern Guatemala to La Ceiba, Honduras. Both San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba were ‘interesting’ places to say. Be cautious and stay safe. La Ceiba was our target destination … this is where you catch the ferry to the Bay Islands (Utila and Roatan). LA CEIBA: We arrived in La Ceiba late afternoon on a Friday. We had no accommodation pre-booked on Utila, and we didn’t want to rush and head straight out to Utila that same day on the 4:00pm […]

FEBRUARY 2016: INTRODUCTION: I was staying in El Nido for 8 nights. One of the main things to do in El Nido is Island Hopping. The Honda Bay trip cost PHP1200 PLUS PHP150 for Mask & Snorkel PLUS PHP150 for Watershoes PLUS PHP150 for Fins. A total of PHP1650 with less than 5 hours on the water. The Port Barton Trip cost PHP700 PLUS PHP50 for the Permit. The Port Barton Trip was much better than the Honda Bay one, had better […]

It was time to try out another one in Port Barton and compare. BOOKING THE TRIP: There are people advertising trips everywhere in Port Barton. There are, usually, 4 trips to choose from: A, […]

Port Barton – Philippines – Island Hopping Trip

NOVEMBER 2015: Click here to read our Vietnam Retirement Reviews. OVERVIEW: It is easy to find and book trips around Phu Quoc Island. I booked my 1 day snorkelling trip at the Thanh Kim Nga Resort which is just down a side road from the Coco Bar. I could have booked it anywhere but, a couple of nights before I had met Michelle (an elderly Frenchman) who owned the Thanh Kim Nga Resort and he said that his Vietnamese wife organised such tours and that she would give me a good price. These resorts work with local operators for commission. Thanh Kim Nga works […]
